The project was funded by OXFAM and implemented by NAPAD,The purpose of the project was to improve the health and the living condition of 30,000 person living in and around the project area this are Garsal,samaroole , yado and Daapa in Gedo Elwak district.The projects constitutes of six (6) components undertaking simultaneously.

Project kick-off meeting was held at elwak and the agenda for the meeting was presentation on project schedule, goals, project cost structures and implementation work plan resented by the implementing partners. Improved access to safe water and sanitation facilities lead to healthier communities.

The project also provided hygiene promotion training to CORPS to educate community members to practice good hygiene especially hand washing with soap or Ash, health benefit are significantly increased this include promoting behavioral change through participatory process where special attention given to building on local knowledge and promoting existing positive traditional practice.

During the social mobilization for the implementation of the projects all actors were involved this include local leader, religious leaders. Village elders, Local Administration and NAPAD staff were all involved in the selection of the beneficiaries.
