Water, Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH)

For over 16 years, NAPAD has been committed to improving water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) conditions. Leveraging our extensive technical expertise, we have successfully established sustainable access to safe and clean water, sanitation, and hygiene services for both displaced persons and host communities in Somalia and Kenya.

We focus on bringing clean water, dignified sanitation facilities, and effective hygiene practices to communities, schools, and healthcare centers.

By providing access to clean water, particularly for girls, we contribute to increased school attendance, as they no longer need to spend time collecting water. Moreover, parents, especially mothers, can allocate more time to providing for their families.

NAPAD also addresses the sanitation needs of these vulnerable communities by constructing latrines and handwashing facilities equipped with soap and clean water. Access to WASH facilities in schools not only ensures children’s health but also includes the distribution of dignity kits for girls, enabling them to concentrate on their studies without missing classes.

NAPAD achieves these through a range of initiatives, including rehabilitating and constructing water kiosks, water storage tanks, and shallow wells and installing solar-powered water pumping systems. We also conduct community awareness campaigns on hygiene, sanitation, and water safety, alongside the distribution of hygiene kits.
