Community Led Peacebuilding and Reconciliation

At NAPAD, we recognize that peaceful coexistence is essential to the well-being of communities in the target areas. To promote peace and stability in Mandera County, Kenya and South Central Zone, Somalia, we work towards an empowered governance and security structure, focusing on supporting community-led peacebuilding and reconciliation, accountable governance, and protection of human rights. We achieve this by supporting social reconciliation initiatives, capacity building of peace actors and formation of peace building committees, advocacy to address SGBV and promotion of  safety and dignity of Displacement Affected communities,  peace education through radio talkshows, promoting children’s rights and protection at the local level, and promoting gender equity and diversity. By implementing these interventions, we hope to foster lasting change, improve the livelihoods, and promote peace and reconciliation among the conflict affected communities across the horn of Africa especially in Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia.
